Hey, babes! I figured I would try something new today and give you a little haul of some products I picked up this week. Every one of these I had heard of before and have been itching to get my hands on to test out. So here are my thoughts on them!
The first thing I picked up was this Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder. I’ve heard some great things about it all over the web, but haven’t been able to find it anywhere. So naturally when I saw it randomly over the weekend I had to snag it. I tried it this morning for the first time and actually really enjoyed it! I used it with a damp sponge to bake both my under-eye concealer and the foundation on my jaw line (I’m all about baking nowadays!) and it seemed to work wonders, making everything stay in place throughout the day. I’ve been on the hunt for a good loose powder alternative to use and am pretty pleased with this one so far, but I’m going to have to play with it some more to get a proper verdict on it. I will say as a side note that it smelled very distinctly of something my S.O’s ninety seven year old grandma would wear. So, if you’re sensitive to smells, I would definitely steer clear or keep it in mind if you try it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Earlier when I mentioned using a damp sponge, I was referring to the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. This is the first time I’ve ever tried anything from the brand, and frankly I’m downright impressed. The sponge was really easy to use with both liquids and powders. I ran it under some water so it would be damp and used it to apply my foundation and concealer this morning and it worked like a dream. I really enjoy the look it gives by pressing it in and getting rid of the excess liquid, leaving a natural and #flawless finish. It was also amazing to use with loose powder, packing it on to help make my face stay on all day (which was definitely needed, as Maryland is getting more and more humid with each day that passes. I don’t even want to talk about it. Humidity sucks).
I heard everyone and their mother rant and rave over Loreal’s True Match Lumie Foundation so I figured I’d give it a go as well. The coverage was easy to build which was nice, but unfortunately didn’t give me the dewy and radiant look I was hoping for. It also didn’t help that the lightest shade was noticeably darker than my skin tone too. Not fun. I made the rookie mistake of applying it in my home, thinking it matched well, and then went out into the natural light only to find that it was extremely apparent that it did not match. Despite that, the product wasn’t all that bad the first time around. But the search for a dewy foundation continues. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them below because I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a good glowy foundation for a while. My face is like a desert and I need all the glow I can get! I wanna beam so much they can see me from space, people.
Aaaaand here we are with the star of the show: Loreal’s Glow Illuminator in Rose. This is by far my favorite product I purchased. It’s definitely in my top favorite drug store highlighters too. I have super fair skin (I’m so pasty I could be Elmers glue), so I’ve found that slightly pinkish highlighters look really good with my complexion, and is an easy way to add a bit of dimension and color to my face. This one has a bunch of different hues that make the perfect shade when swirled and buffed onto your cheek bones. And it’s exactly the right amount of glow. It’s pearlescent and eye-catching, yet still on the softer side. And it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for (queue the soft jazz music).
And that just about wraps it up for the things I purchased this week at the drug store! Have you tried any of these products? If so, what were your thoughts on them? I’d love to know!
And as always, thanks for reading.
