MY MAKEUP BAG: january

Hey babes! I’m gonna be real here: I haven’t been putting on loads of makeup recently. Matter of fact, I think I’ve probably put on makeup a total of 5 times in the past month. And only one of them has been full-face, highlighter and all. I know.

Now, while I’ve never been one to only leave the house with a complete face of makeup on, I did usually put makeup on most days of the week. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve truly loved wearing minimal amounts of products on my face.

I think I’ve seriously mastered the quick minimal makeup look, honestly, and most days I actually prefer it on myself.

But, I wanted to show you the products I’ve been continuously reaching for whenever I do put on makeup!

01. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette.

I finally delved into the realm of this super popular palette. And it’s so amazing, I can’t believe I didn’t buy it sooner. Especially because peach tones are my absolutely fav. I mean, what more could you want? You’ve got the peaches, the creams, the neutrals, some greens, and a bit of purple in there too. I’m a happy lady.

02. Wet N Wild Color Icon Reserve Your Cabana Bronzer.

Let me get it out the way: this is totally not a bronzer. It’s way too light, even on the fairest of fair. BUT don’t let this discourage you. This is seriously amazing stuff, people. And while I’m not going to get into it too much, as I’m going to be writing a post all about this amazing product, I will let you know right now: it’s a necessity for any dry ladies out there.

03. Ellen Tracy Bronzer.

This product is way too cool toned and dark for me to use it as a bronzer. However, it works wonders as a (matte) contour shade. Loving it!

04. Covergirl Vivid Impact Truffle Eyeliner.

I love the conistency of this bad boy, and I love the lasting power even better. For the price, you can’t beat it. Typically, eyeliners fade away from my water/tight line immediately, due to my water eyes. But this one manages to stay put exactly where I want it to be. Plus I’ve been loving brown eyeliners lately. It gives you definition, while not being as harsh as a black eyeliner would be.

05. Low Maintenance Berry Lips.

I don’t know which I love more, but honestly they’re both fantastic. The two I’ve been wearing most often is Milani’s Black Cherry & Maybelline’s Vivid Rose. If you’re looking for something dark and dramatic, but with no fuss, I’d suggest Black Cherry. However, if you’re looking for a pop of berry, but with the low maintenance of a lip balm, definitely go for Vivid Rose. Either way, you’re gonna look amazing.

What are some products you’ve been loving a lot recently? I’d love to know in the comment section!

And as always, thanks for reading!

  1. I’ve been doing the minimalist thing for a while now. I have really good skin, and only use under eye concealer and concealer on my nose. Over this I use a light dusting of powder foundation. Being 58, too much make up is not my friend. Wet n Wild products have really come a long way. Their nail polish is great for the price.
